Guided Tours at 11:00am and 1:30pm
Darts Hill is the result of over seventy years of work and dedication guided by the vision of Francisca Darts, a former member of Vancouver Hardy Plant Group. The 7.5 acre garden was donated to the City of Surrey in 1994 to become a horticulture center for the preservation, enhancement & development of plants. There are many unusual & interesting trees, shrubs & perennials that make the garden unique. The garden is open every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the peak months of April, May, June, and September. Entrance to the park is by donation.
Vancouver Hardy Plant Group is planning a visit to Darts Hill on Saturday April 16th and Pat Logie of the Open Garden Committee will arrange a guided tour for those members who wish to participate (each tour a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 10). Tours must be booked and prepaid two weeks in advance and the fee is $5.00 per person. The tour times will be 11:00am & 1:30pm and run for approximately one to one and a half hours. Members are individually responsible for a donation for admission to the garden. Members who are not planning to go on one of the guided tours may, of course, visit at any time during entrance hours. If you would like a take a prepaid guided tour please contact Pat Logie before Wednesday, March 30th – her contact details are in the recent notice emailed or mailed to members.
There is also a plant sale on that Saturday which offers a wide selection of perennials, ferns, ground covers, shrubs, and trees at very reasonable prices and ready to be planted in your garden. These plants have been selected from Darts Hill Garden and cared for by the Propagation Team.
